Nigeria: African leaders welcome G8 aid package

South African President Thabo Mbeki and Nigeria's President Olusegun Obasanjo have described this week's Group of Eight (G8) summit as a success for Africa. Mbeki said he was pleased with the outcome as the G8 had now provided specific amounts of money to finance the G8 Africa Action Plan of 2002 - and timetables for reaching its goals.
